How do I track Taco Chats participation?

Where to see Taco Chats activity

Go to Admin → Taco Chats. The top of the page shows three numbers at a glance:

  • Participants: how many teammates are currently participating.
  • Matches: how many Taco Chats have been created.
  • Avg Participation Score: the average score across all your team's chats.

Below that, Upcoming Chats lists scheduled pairs with their date, status, and match type. Chat History lists past chats with their date, status, match type, and participation score.

What is the Participation Score?

The Participation Score measures how actively matched teammates participate in their Taco Chats. Higher scores mean stronger participation. Messages and tacos exchanged count toward a chat's score for 2 weeks after the chat starts, so a recent chat's score can still go up.

HeyTaco calculates the score from message counts, not message content. Admins never see what people said.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Question Answer
Can I read my team's Taco Chats? No. HeyTaco doesn't save Taco Chat messages, so there's nothing to read in the admin dashboard. You'll only see participation stats.
Why is a chat's score 0? The pair hasn't replied yet. Scores keep updating for 2 weeks after a chat starts.
What does Match Type mean? It shows why the pair was matched. Connect means HeyTaco paired two people to build a new connection.
Is Taco Chats data included in HeyTaco reports or research? Taco Chats data is excluded from HeyTaco research and marketing stats.
