Does HeyTaco read or store Taco Chat messages?

Does HeyTaco read our conversations?

Only inside a Taco Chat. When two teammates are matched, HeyTaco opens a chat for them, and HeyTaco's AI reads that chat so it can start the conversation and follow up when things get quiet. It never sees anything outside that chat, including your other channels, DMs, or the rest of your Slack.

Does HeyTaco store Taco Chat messages?

No. HeyTaco's AI reads a Taco Chat in the moment so it can keep the conversation going, but HeyTaco never saves the messages. They stay in Slack under your workspace's normal retention settings.

The only thing HeyTaco keeps is a count of messages per chat, which powers the Participation Score admins see.

Is our data used to train AI?

No. Taco Chat messages are never used to train AI models. Taco Chats data is also excluded from HeyTaco's research and marketing stats.

What AI does Taco Chats use?

Taco Chats is powered by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic. Read our AI Use Policy for the full details on how HeyTaco uses AI.

Is HeyTaco secure?

Yes. HeyTaco is SOC 2 compliant. Visit our Trust Center for security documentation.
