Can I give tacos in a direct message?

No — tacos can only be given in channels, not in direct messages. This applies to both Slack and Microsoft Teams.

Where you can give tacos depends on your platform:

Slack — Tacos work in public and private channels. Privacy settings control whether tacos given in private channels appear on the activity feed and leaderboard. See "How do tacos in private channels work?" for details.

Microsoft Teams — Tacos work in standard channels within both public and private teams. However, tacos are not supported in private channels within Teams. If you need recognition to stay within a smaller group, use a private team instead.
