Why isn't HeyTaco seeing my tacos?
If your tacos aren't appearing on the leaderboard, here are the most common reasons:
The message didn't tag the recipient by their display name. The message must include @username to register. Example: @Lin thanks for the help! 🌮
The message was edited after being sent. HeyTaco only reads the original message. If you added the taco emoji or someone's @username after sending, it won't be tracked. Send a new message instead.
Too many tacos were included in a multi-person message. When tagging multiple people, the taco count applies to each person individually. If this would exceed your daily limit, HeyTaco won't count it. See [How do I give tacos to multiple people in one message?] for the correct format.
HeyTaco isn't in the channel. HeyTaco can only track tacos in channels it's been added to.
- In Slack, type
/invite @heytacoin the channel - In Microsoft Teams, see "How do I add HeyTaco to additional channels or teams?"
Microsoft Teams only: try reinstalling HeyTaco
If none of the above apply and your tacos still aren't being tracked in Microsoft Teams, reinstalling HeyTaco often resolves the issue. Here is a video showing how to re-install HeyTaco. Once you re-instal, try giving a taco an you should receive a notification that it was tracked. If you don't, please let us know.
