What are Tacotars and levels?

Note: Tacotars are a Slack-only feature. Levels are available on both Slack and Microsoft Teams.

Tacotars

Tacotars are a collection of charming taco characters, each representing a milestone in your HeyTaco journey. They're a way to celebrate the people driving their team's taco economy — the consistent givers who make recognition a daily habit.

Tacotars are unlocked based on your taco giving and receiving behavior. The more you participate — spreading tacos across your team, showing up consistently, and giving meaningful recognition — the closer you get to unlocking your next Tacotar. There are 50 Tacotars in total and you can see them all here.

If you don't have one yet, it just means you haven't unlocked one yet. Keep giving and it's only a matter of time.

Levels

Levels are a related but separate system. Every time you unlock a new Tacotar, you also unlock a new level. But levels can also be unlocked independently — there's no cap on how high your level can go. As you progress, levels become increasingly challenging to reach.

What's the difference between the two?

Tacotars are finite (50 total) and milestone-based. Levels are infinite and reflect your ongoing taco activity. They're two different ways of celebrating your participation in the taco economy.

What do I do with a Tacotar?

Share it, brag about it, set it as a background — whatever feels right. Tacotars are your permission to celebrate the fact that giving appreciation makes the world a better place.
