🎁 Filter Gift Cards by Country (Slack)

Global teams, this one's for you. HeyTaco for Slack users can now filter gift cards and rewards by country inside Taco Shop, making it easier to browse rewards that are actually available in their region. Teammates can quickly find rewards they can redeem and enjoy.

🎉 Custom Work Anniversary Tacos (Slack)

Users can now customize how many tacos teammates receive for work anniversaries. Want longer-tenured employees to receive bigger milestone celebrations? You can now set custom taco amounts for work anniversaries directly in your admin settings.

👥 Add People Button for Microsoft Teams

Admins using Microsoft Teams can now quickly add teammates to HeyTaco with a new "Add People" button. This streamlines onboarding and helps teams roll out HeyTaco more smoothly across their organization.

🧭 Revamped Admin Navigation

The admin navigation experience received a refresh to simplify access to settings, analytics, rewards, and people management. The new layout is cleaner, faster, and designed to scale alongside new Deluxe features and reporting tools.

📊 New Analytics Dashboard for Classic Customers

We've started rolling out a refreshed analytics dashboard experience for Classic customers. The updated dashboard provides improved visibility into taco activity, rewards and redemptions, team participation, and recognition trends over time.

🚀 Deluxe on Microsoft Teams

We officially launched HeyTaco Deluxe on Microsoft Teams on March 19. Teams customers can now celebrate birthdays and work anniversaries automatically with Milestones, and reward teammates instantly with Gift Cards. A big step toward bringing the full HeyTaco experience to Teams.

We expanded support for work anniversary start dates beyond the year 2000. For teams with long-tenured employees, this means milestones now reflect the full story—not just the recent chapter.

February was about strengthening the foundation and polishing the experience. No flashy gimmicks — just meaningful upgrades that make HeyTaco more secure, more stable, and easier to use every day.

SOC 2 Type II — Successfully Completed

We officially passed our SOC 2 Type II audit again. Our security controls were independently validated across access management, infrastructure security, monitoring & logging, change management, and operational processes. For our customers — especially growing and enterprise teams — this reinforces that HeyTaco is built with security as core infrastructure, not an afterthought.

Weekend Milestone Clarity

When a milestone falls on a weekend, it now clearly indicates it will be celebrated on the next weekday (in Admin → Milestones and Individual Settings). No more confusion about why a celebration didn't post — recognition now feels predictable and intentional.

Stickers No Longer Expire

After countless feedback from our community, we removed sticker expiration. If you unlock it — it's yours to use. 🎉

Manual Redemption Option (For Admins)

Admins can now create manual redemptions. This allows reducing a user's redeemable taco balance, creating a record of redemptions fulfilled outside HeyTaco, and better accounting consistency. It gives admins more control without increasing complexity.

March saw a few new updates for HeyTaco for Microsoft Teams users.

• Introduced a new mobile menu for easier navigation.
• Added a loading spinner for better page feedback.
• Microsoft Teams app now supports Microsoft 365, Outlook, and Android.

The team also addressed various smaller bugs and continued backend improvements to enhance bot performance and accelerate recognition features.

Instant Gift Cards Now Available (Slack)

Users can now redeem gift cards directly within Slack, making rewards more seamless and immediate — enabling quick access to digital rewards without leaving the flow of work.

HeyTaco for Microsoft Teams Enhancements

• Leaderboard Customization: Admins can now toggle leaderboards on and off, giving teams greater flexibility in how they showcase recognition activity.
• Redeemable Taco Reset: A new option allows admins to reset redeemable tacos, providing better control over reward distribution and accounting.
• Improved People Management: Added a search bar and the ability to export team member data for better reporting and insights.

Happy New Year! This month we made some fun new updates to HeyTaco for Microsoft Teams Rewards and Redemptions:

• Individual and Group rewards have been re-named to Custom and Collaborative — those new names just suit them a tad better.
• Reward ideas for each reward type have been updated. Check them under Rewards → Create Rewards.
• You can now download all your redemptions on the Admin → Redemptions page.
• You can now cancel both fulfilled and unfulfilled rewards on the Admin → Redemptions page. When you cancel a reward, those tacos will be returned to the person's balance.

• We launched the HeyTaco swag and sticker stores! You can now shop your favorite taco-inspired clothing and stickers, and live the attitude of gratitude every day.
• Updated Terms of Service to account for new product features.
• Updated Slack App Directory listing with new tagline and image.

My Redemptions View

Users can now see the status of their individual redemptions, letting them know whether their reward has been fulfilled or not. This allows users to not lose track of rewards they are still waiting for or have yet to use.

Time Zones

We refactored the way timezones are tracked when people are giving and receiving tacos in HeyTaco for Microsoft Teams. This strengthened the way we track tacos and daily taco limits across timezones — ensuring robustness and efficiency of the taco market for our global user base.

October was packed with security-relevant work that ensures we protect our customers' data.

We were busy in September launching new features that will make the life of a HeyTaco admin much simpler.

• Search bar on the People page: You can now search for a specific person you'd like to make an admin, remove, or simply view their taco data.
• Taco Bonus for multiple recipients: Admins can now distribute identical bonuses to multiple team members at once — useful for rewarding external achievements like wellness goals.
• Custom fields for Taco Shop rewards: Admins can now add a custom question (for example: "which office building are you working from?") to streamline custom reward redemptions.
• TacoTV security enhancements: Introduced an activation code to access the TacoTV page, so you can securely display it on an office monitor.
